Our client is seeking a visionary and accomplished Lead Architect to spearhead innovative sustainable urban development projects in Vereeniging, Gauteng, ZA . This role demands exceptional design talent, a strong understanding of environmental principles, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams from concept to completion. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the future of urban landscapes, focusing on ecological balance, community well-being, and cutting-edge architectural design.

Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptualization and development of sustainable architectural designs for large-scale urban projects, ensuring integration of green building technologies and practices. Oversee the entire design process, from feasibility studies and master planning to detailed design development and construction documentation. Collaborate closely with urban planners, environmental consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic project development. Mentor and guide junior architects and design teams, fostering a culture of creativity, technical excellence, and continuous learning. Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards specific to South Africa. Develop innovative solutions for challenges related to urban density, resource management, and social infrastructure. Prepare and present design proposals, renderings, and technical reports to clients, regulatory bodies, and the public. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for design phases. Stay abreast of the latest trends, materials, and technologies in sustainable architecture and urban planning. Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies to inform design decisions and project viability. Review and approve construction drawings and specifications to ensure design intent is met. Champion the firm's commitment to sustainable design principles in all project endeavors.
Qualifications:
Professional Architect registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP). Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in architectural design and project management, with a significant focus on urban development and sustainable design. Proven track record of successfully leading complex, large-scale architectural projects from inception to completion. Extensive knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Star SA), and relevant technologies. Proficiency in industry-standard architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a design team effectively. Expertise in South African building regulations and planning policies. Experience in community engagement and stakeholder management is highly desirable. A portfolio showcasing exceptional design quality and innovative sustainable solutions is required.
