Job Title: Contract Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a skilled Contract Laboratory Technician to join our Stanton Trait Introgression Green House team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in developing new crops that impact the food supply.
About the Role:

The Stanton Trait Introgression Team is responsible for planting, trait screening, cycling, and plant tissue sampling. As a Contract Laboratory Technician, you will work on greenhouse projects that apply molecular tools to accelerate plant-breeding programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct tasks associated with molecular breeding greenhouse trials including planting, transplanting, tissue sampling, laboratory sterile culture techniques, quality control screening, and other project cycling tasks to meet objectives.
• Conduct data-driven pollinations based upon genotypic results.
• Routine daily monitoring of systems and follow-up reporting to team.
• Responsible for greenhouse sanitation and quality check between cycles.
• Conduct fertigation of crops.
• Assist in lyophilization procedure.
• Communicate technical problems of projects to Stanton TI Team.
• Alternate weekend watering with other employees.
Requirements:
• B.S. degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, or Biotechnology is required.
• Able to use personal computer and standard office software.
• Work in a team setting and able to communicate effectively throughout the TI Team.
• Able to work in a greenhouse and in field conditions.
Physical Demands:

Able to travel by car, perform repetitive tasks, and work in an environment with high levels of plant pollen. Must be able to move freely and use proper lifting techniques. Varied working environment includes office, lab, research field, and/or greenhouse.
