About the Role

The Stanton Trait Introgression Team is responsible for planting, trait screening, cycling, and plant tissue sampling. As a Contract Laboratory Technician, you will work as a member of the TI Team on greenhouse projects applying molecular tools to accelerate plant-breeding programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct tasks associated with molecular breeding greenhouse trials including planting, transplanting, tissue sampling, laboratory sterile culture techniques, quality control screening, and other project cycling tasks.
• Conduct data-driven pollinations based upon genotypic results.
• Routine daily monitoring of systems and follow-up reporting to team.
• Responsible for greenhouse sanitation and quality check between cycles.
• Conduct fertigation of crops.
• Assist in lyophilization procedure.
• Communicate technical problems of projects to Stanton TI Team.
• Alternate weekend watering with other employees.
Requirements
• B.S. degree in Plant Science, Horticulture, or Biotechnology required.
• Ability to use personal computer and standard office software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a team setting and communicate effectively throughout the TI Team.
• Physical ability to travel by car and work in environment with high levels of plant pollen.
