Job Description
Federation University Australia is hiring a full-time Kitchen Assistant for its Ballarat VIC campus. Responsibilities include assisting kitchen teams with cleaning, stock management, and catering setup while maintaining hygiene standards. Candidates should have experience in food handling and a Level 1 Food Handling Certificate is desirable. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Be responsible for general assistance to the kitchen teams.

• HEW 2 - $58,616 p.a. plus up to 17% superannuation

About the role
You will be responsible for providing general assistance to the kitchen teams including cleaning, stock receipt and delivery, and set up for function catering across the Ballarat campuses.
You will:
• participate in the delivery of food services;
• ensure hygiene standards are maintained; and
• assist with delivery and set up of offsite catering functions.
About you
You will have a demonstrated experience in handling food and cleaning commercial kitchens in addition to experience managing stock rotation.
You will possess:
• ability to work individually and as part of a team;
• ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and a broad range of customers; and
• a Level 1 Food Handling Certificate is desirable.
All University positions delivering education and/or services to children must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). Please refer to the position description for WWCC requirements.
