Job Description

Summary of Position

The Junior Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and repair of specific machine components, assist with performing preventative maintenance to production equipment as required, and provide support to any other maintenance tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain and repair specific mechanical and electrical components (RH & ICB)
• Assist with performing preventative/predictive maintenance to all production equipment as required.  
• Work side-by-side with experienced technician during equipment repair and learn smart/safe work practices.  
• Complete small mechanical projects based on direction given from Team Lead/ Supervisor or manager.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulations at all times.  
• Initiate and complete all other jobs, projects and special assignments as directed by Supervisor  
• Ensure compliance of all Company policies  
• Maintain personal compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures to improve health and safety.  
• Work within a team environment and interact with all areas of production effectively.  
• Always follow LOCK OUT/TAG OUT procedure on production equipment.
• Adhere to work orders, preventive/predictive maintenance systems

Qualifications

Skills
• Experience with mechanical equipment
• Experience with use of hand tools and small power tools
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) an asset

Traits
• High degree of organization, attention to detail, precision and follow through  
• Ability to work continuously with small intricate parts and tools
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional team members  
• Mechanical aptitude/ interest  
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills  
• Team-oriented  

Education and/or Experience
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience with problem-solving skills     

 Preferred:  
• At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment with multiple priorities
• A certificate from technical trade school, Military experience in lieu of or related subject
