ANCHOR QEA, LLC is hiring a Junior Environmental Scientist in Seattle, WA. This full-time role involves data analysis, database management, and collaboration with project teams. What's the Opportunity?
Do you have a passion for the environment, analyzing data, and are looking to join a collaborative, innovative team of environmental and data scientists? Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time early-career level environmental scientist or engineer to join our Data Solutions Group. You will have had coursework and independent project experience in areas such as environmental science, biology, chemistry, toxic contaminants, environmental risk assessment, statistics, programming, and data science. You will have a passion for problem-solving, attention to detail and quality, and an interest in environmental issues.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities as an environmental database analyst will include, but are not limited to, the following.
Extract, cleanse, and load data into a relational database using SQL, Python, and other tools and programming languages.
Review data for completeness and accuracy
Collaborate with project teams, field data collection teams, and analytical chemistry laboratories.
Perform data analysis, compare results against regulatory criteria, and prepare data tables.
Perform some programming to develop data analysis, reporting, and task automation tools.
Some field work is possible but not required for the position.
What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, or a related program
1 to 5 years of experience
Familiarity with basic statistics
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Access, EarthSoft EQuIS environmental data management system or a similar application
Familiarity with SQL and one or more programming languages (such as Python, R, or .NET)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to balance multiple tasks and the ability to work independently
Enjoy working with multidisciplinary project teams in a fast-paced environment

Salary and Other Compensation:
Salary Range: $76,500 - $96,500 annually
Annual Bonus
