Job Description

Novel Energy Solutions is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for solar energy projects in Minnesota. The role involves electrical work on solar PV systems, supervising installations, diagnosing issues, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates must be licensed with knowledge of the National Electrical Code and possess leadership skills. The job is full-time, paying $55.00 - $62.00 per hour, with various benefits, and requires outdoor work and occasional travel within Minnesota.
The Journeyman electrician performs a variety of tasks and assists other craft workers in the construction, maintenance, and repair activities on solar PV systems. Must have the ability to travel to and work in the state of Minnesota.

1. Responsible for the electrical work on the construction of DG solar PV systems or community solar garden systems
2. Provide and lead all electrical work associated with solar PV installation
3. Supervise and direct installers to complete all install processes and tasks
4. Operate a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions
5. Inspect plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of installations
6. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
7. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
8. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
9. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
10. Provide and maintain personal hand tools
11. Use and maintain company-issued tools
12. Work outdoors on solar installations year-round
13. Climb ladders, work in attics, crawl spaces, on sloped roofs, and similar locations
14. Perform panel upgrades and other electrical work when required
15. Follow OSHA safety regulations and provided safety training
16. Lift and carry tools, materials, and parts (up to 50lbs)
17. Provide on-the-job training to apprentice electricians
18. Verify all OSHA and NES safety policies and equipment are used correctly
19. Arrive punctually to work and diligently perform the duties and tasks assigned
20. Be available for occasional overtime or emergency response
21. Ensure quality of workmanship meets or exceeds minimum industry standards

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

· Licensed Journeyman (can be with reciprocity) in the states that NES is building
· Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
· Advanced knowledge of safety construction, commissioning and testing electrical systems
· Combination of electrical training and solar PV construction field experience
· Ability to manage, train, and supervise others
· High school diploma
· Demonstrated critical thinking, organization and planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills
· Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Attention to detail
· Proficiency with Procore, or other construction management software
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
· Driver’s license and clean driving record

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55.00 - $62.00 per hour
