Gensler is seeking a Job Captain in South Miami, FL, to collaborate with Design Directors on various project phases, from conceptual designs to construction documentation. Candidates should have a professional degree in architecture or interior design, 3-5 years of experience, and proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software. The role emphasizes teamwork, sustainability, and diversity. Relocation to Florida is encouraged as this position is not remote.

Your Role As a Job Captain in Genslers dynamic
Miami
office, you will collaborate with our Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts

Your Qualifications
Professional degree in architecture or bachelor's degree in interior design
3-5 years of related project experience
Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, Revit, Octane, 3dViz, 3ds MAX, and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp
Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
State licensure and LEED accreditation a plus, strong preference that these are at least in process
Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper, a plus
Interior architecture experience a plus
Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
