Consentium Search is hiring a full-time Health and Safety Specialist in Helena, MT. This on-site role involves implementing Occupational Health and Safety programs, training staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates must have at least three years of OHS experience in civil construction. Relocation assistance is available within the US. The position requires a strong understanding of safety metrics and employee training.
This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our civil construction related client and REQUIRES being ON-SITE in the Helena, MT area. HOWEVER, relocation assistance within the US is available.

What you will be doing:

As the Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation, training and oversight of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, strategy, and staff activities along with related organizational performance standards to support the facility.

You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OHS related matters.

You will guide, coach, mentor and support your safety committees and all site employees on how to protect themselves, each other and company assets in the most productive and efficient manner.

Minimum Requirements:
• All potential candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
• Three (3) or more years of OHS experience in civil, not vertical, construction
• Demonstrated success in utilizing and reporting on leading and lagging KPIs resulting in driving health and safety metrics lower
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction site health and safety programs and auditing

Additional Preferred (not required) Competencies:
• Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, or related topic
• 5 or more years of OHS management experience in manufacturing environments
• Professional Certification (GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, CHST, COSS, MSP, CSD, etc.)

Major Responsibilities:
• Partner with operations leadership and general workforce serving as SME regarding interpretation of federal, state and local OHS regulations
• Lead employee training programs regarding OHS behaviors and compliance
• Oversee employee safety compliance and Lead/Participate in OHS audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed
• Lead/Participate in Continuous Improvement initiative regarding OHS policies and programs
• * Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators
• Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local OHS regulations
