About the role:

The Planning & Performance Manager role is to provide governance and frameworks to manage IT expenditure. This includes:

• Providing performance reporting to IT management team on key financial and operational metrics to drive better decision making.

• Developing budget inputs for all IT opex.

• Maintaining the central view of software and hardware renewals and working continually to optimise the cost of software and hardware.

• Providing operational insights to finance business partner to enable accurate opex forecasting.

• Overseeing direct reports to mentor and lead the team.

• Leading the development of long-term cost control programs.

What you will deliver:

• Consolidate and manage inputs for the production of Information Technology budgets and long term plans.

• Establish and manage processes for the commercial management of technology, including regular reporting against established short- and long-term goals and KPIs.

• Lead input of technology data into consolidated company budget process.

• Ensure software and hardware renewals are completed in a timely manner to maintain continuity of service to the IT business unit.

• Utilise Flexera or other agreed toolsets maintain and monitor the scope and quality of data attributes for software/hardware licensing, compliance, maintenance renewals and upgrades.

• Inform the annual and long-term planning and budgeting processes based on the forward pipeline of works, working with IT Commercial team.

• Establish, manage, and maintain key stakeholder relationships and ensure they are appropriately involved in the decision-making processes relating to the program/portfolio.

• Provide support for Information Technology process improvement initiatives.

To succeed in this role you’ll have:

• Degree level (or equivalent formal) qualification in Finance or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Extensive experience in financial and budget management.

• Expertise in working within a commercial environment.

• Knowledge of financial management, including planning and budgeting.

• Skilled in negotiating with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational policies and strategies.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Understanding of financial and commercial concepts relating to the IT function.
