Investment Associate

Partners Capital is seeking an Investment Associate in Sonoma, CA, to manage client portfolios, support business development, and conduct investment research. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Candidates should have 2-4 years of relevant experience and a strong academic background. The Investment Associate located in San Francisco will be a part of a diverse group that now requires an additional team player who will have wide-ranging, client-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities
• Client Portfolio Management (50%): Creating investment strategy from inception to client presentation and execution; both virtually and in person. Managing clients' balance sheets, preparing asset allocation analyses, and investment recommendations. This role requires a strong grasp of portfolio construction and an ability to produce client-ready work on tight deadlines.
• Business Development (40%): Preparing pitch materials including evaluating existing portfolios, crafting Requests for Proposals, assisting with researching, identifying, and tracking prospective clients. Innovating new lines of business.
• Investment Research (10%): Occasionally accountable for the investment due diligence process including sourcing and monitoring new investments and leading initial meetings in the research process. Responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses that require strong Excel modelling skills.

Key responsibilities will be regularly assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime as needed.

Additional responsibilities include:
• Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
• Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels

Qualifications / Attributes
• The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in asset management, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.
• This person is expected to have an undergraduate degree from a top institution alongside a strong record of academic achievement.
• Interest or steps taken towards becoming a CFA Charterholder is preferred, but not essential.

California requires Partners Capital to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role. This base salary range is specific to individuals applying to work in our San Francisco office and takes into account a number of factors. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role in San Francisco is $100,000 - $130,000. The base salary offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. The base salary is one element of our competitive compensation package. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives and our profit share program.
