Candidates should have at least three years of inventory control experience, be detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include compliance with procedures, assisting in audits, and identifying process improvements. Forklift certification is a plus.

The Leominster Team is looking to fill the role of Inventory Control Specialist in their Leominster, Massachusetts facility. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring our inventory value is accurate, complete, tracked, and adjusted with a high degree of precision and in compliance with both internal and external requirements. The Leominster site is one of the manufacturing sites for IPL’s Large Format and Retail Packaging (LF&R) business in the United States. LF&R is a growing segment, with annual revenue of approximately $200m and significant growth potential, and is part of the Environmental, Returnable and Industrial Solutions (ERIS) Division of IPL.
Position Title: Inventory Control Specialist
Location: Leominster, Massachusetts
What you will bring to the role:
A reliable, dependable candidate who will bring a team player mindset with the ability to work autonomously as needed.
The successful candidate will:
• Primary responsibility is to ensure our inventory value is accurate, complete, tracked, and adjusted with a high degree of precision and in compliance with both internal and external requirements.
• Spearhead the development, implementation and execution of resin, raw materials, FG cycle count process.
• Work with cross-functional team to ensure 100% completion of quarterly cycle counts.
• Work closely with other departments daily to identify and correct erroneous production reports, label errors, scrap, downtime, and any other item impacting performance.
• Daily review of prior day performance and implement any necessary corrective actions to ensure inventory is as accurate as possible.
• Review and submit new item setup requests, as well as maintain a listing of active items in our ERP.
• Assist with BOM and variance reviews as necessary to ensure BOM’s are accurate and determine root cause of variances.
• Assist Finance team with inventory valuation reviews, standard cost adjustments, and review of Post Inventory Transactions (PIT).
• Be the primary point of contact for all inventory-related inquiries.
• Conduct annual review of inventory procedures to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist, and at times lead, year-end inventory audit duties, as needed.
• Identify process improvements and make necessary corrections, as needed.
• Assists with other projects and performs other duties assigned, as needed.
Additional requirements:
• At least 3 years of inventory control & production discrepancy investigation experience.
• ERP system implementation experience a plus.
• Ability to work in fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Forklift experience and certification, a plus.
• Excellent time management skills with an ability to work under pressure with strict adherence to deadlines.
• Ability to lead a cross-functional team of non-subordinates and still deliver results.
• Basic understanding of Injection Molding, a plus.
• Experience with SQF (Safe Quality Foods) Certification is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specific knowledge and understanding of Excel.
• Basic understanding of company-wide integrated ERP systems.
• Experience in Inventory Management and Control, preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
