Job Description

VirtualVocations is seeking an International Fishing Technology Expert to analyze fishing gear data, assess illegal practices, and develop training materials for sustainable fishing. The role requires a degree in related fields and 7 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in English and knowledge of international fisheries standards are essential. Key Responsibilities

Analyze existing data on fishing gear characteristics and assess illegal gear usage and practices
Propose and develop questionnaires and selection criteria for pilot regions focusing on sustainable fishing practices
Conduct training sessions and develop educational materials for effective management of alternative fishing gear

Required Qualifications

University degree in Fisheries, Biology, Environmental Studies, or related fields
7 years of relevant experience in fishing operations, technology, and environmental impacts
Full proficiency in English
Experience in project formulation and implementation in the fishing sector
Knowledge of international standards related to fisheries and environmental sustainability
