Duration: June 9 – August 15, 2025

Project Overview: The summer internship project focuses on enhancing our understanding and practices of CSR and sustainability within relocation services. The intern will engage in various data-gathering and analysis activities in collaboration with partners like our Relocation Management Company, Sirva. The project culminates in the creation of a strategic roadmap proposal for future initiatives over a two-year horizon.

Key Responsibilities:

Data-Gathering and Analysis with Relocation Management Company:
• Partner with Sirva and J&J Procurement to evaluate Sirva's current CSR and sustainability status, expressing the joint responsibility of business practices.
• Review Sirva’s certifications (e.g., EcoVadis, ISO) and analyse their sustainability/CSR dashboard, key performance indicators (KPIs), sustainability programs, and corporate responsibility reports.
• Investigate Sirva's supply chain sustainability metrics: Identify mandatory versus optional sustainability practices.
• Analyse tracking requirements mandated by J&J Procurement and explore opportunities for new policies and supply chain improvements, including greener alternatives and quick wins.

Data-Gathering and Analysis with Household Goods Providers and Third-Party Suppliers:
• Evaluate the sustainability programs and CSR dashboards of household goods providers and third-party services (e.g., car shipping companies).
• Investigate their CO2 emission reports and savings programs, identifying areas for improvement in transportation, stacking, packaging, and storage practices.
• Compare findings with industry peers to assess competitive positioning in sustainability practices.

Research:
• Conduct research on the latest sustainability standards in the relocation/mobility sector.
• Perform competitor benchmarking to understand CSR practices between Sirva and other relocation management companies.
• Explore initiatives taken by other corporations to enhance sustainability in their relocation programs, benchmarking J&J´s current approach.

Create a Roadmap Proposal:
• Develop a strategic roadmap proposing CSR and sustainability initiatives for a two-year horizon, focusing on clear goals, measurable outcomes, and actionable steps.

Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Business Administration, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions.
• Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Passionate about sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

The anticipated base pay for this position is between 22.00/hr and 51.50/hr, but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and the Company’s consolidated retirement plan in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
