About the position

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Intern for the Renewables Energy Analytics team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This internship is a full-time position during the Summer of 2025, with the potential for part-time work during the academic year. The hourly rate for this internship is $21.40, and interns will also receive paid company holidays. The position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for both remote and on-site work in the Milwaukee office. The Power Operations team is responsible for managing day-ahead and real-time electric trading operations for WEC's utility and non-utility projects in wholesale electric markets. This group plays a crucial role in optimizing electric load forecasting, generation cost and availability, environmental testing, and load management programs. Their efforts are aimed at mitigating risk and promoting favorable financial outcomes while ensuring reliable service to the load. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to analyze Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Credit transactions specifically for wind projects. You will also support improvements to energy offer strategies for wind farm generation sales into wholesale electric markets. Additionally, you will review cost parameters for electric generators to enhance operating cost forecasting and learn about the market integration of new battery and solar projects.

Requirements
• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related majors
