MidAmerican Energy Company is seeking an Intern for Renewable Generation Performance Engineering in Norwalk, IA. The intern will assist the renewables team in optimizing renewable asset performance through data analysis, dashboard development, and on-site inspections. The role requires a college student in a relevant field, effective teamwork, and communication skills. The internship runs full-time from May to August 2026 and includes networking opportunities and events in Des Moines.

Interns will have the opportunity to participate in the annual three-day summer intern event in Des Moines, Iowa where they will have the opportunity to tour state-of-the-art facilities, network with leadership, and gain a broader understanding of MidAmerican Energy Company. Other panels, lunch and learns, and events will be happening throughout the summer to give our interns the best experience.

Responsibilities:
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform tasks and assignments necessary to assist renewables team maintain and increase renewable asset performance across the fleet by leveraging data.
Developing analyses to capture performance and asset data and utilizing that data to optimize renewable asset performance through the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a wind generation technical performance optimization program.
Aid developing analytics, dashboards to visualize and assess wind fleet performance
Gather information on turbine assets, spare parts, service orders etc. and create datasets.
Assist renewables team with on-site work such as blade inspections, failure analysis
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned and required

Qualifications:
Skills for Success
Ability to work effectively with a team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of coding (Python) is a plus.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Must be a college student, sophomore, or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, computer science or related field.
Must be able to work fulltime May - August 2026.
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record. Some travel may be required.
