TerraPower is hiring a Natrium Maintenance and Training Intern in Kemmerer, WY. The intern will support the Maintenance and Training departments by developing maintenance strategies and training materials for an advanced nuclear reactor project. Responsibilities include assisting with maintenance procedures, job analysis, and training module development. This role provides hands-on experience in maintenance program development and instructional design, contributing to a pioneering energy initiative.

Natrium Maintenance and Training Intern





The Natrium Maintenance and Training Intern will support a collaborative effort between the Maintenance and Training departments to align maintenance strategy development with training program design. This position contributes to the preparation of the Natrium facility for operations by assisting in the creation, organization, and integration of maintenance procedures, strategies, and associated training materials.
The intern will gain experience in maintenance program development, job and task analysis (JTA), and the instructional design process used to convert technical procedures into effective learning materials. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop both technical and training-related skills while supporting a first-of-a-kind advanced reactor project.





Responsibilities:





• Assist maintenance engineers and planners with the development and organization of maintenance strategies and procedures.
• Support the Job and Task Analysis (JTA) process to define required skills, knowledge, and training for maintenance roles.
• Participate in the storyboarding of maintenance training modules prior to Articulate 360 development.
• Review and cross-reference maintenance procedures with related training content to ensure consistency.
• Assist in the creation and organization of qualification records, training matrices, and data libraries.
• Collaborate with both Maintenance and Training teams to align technical content with instructional design standards.
• Prepare a summary presentation at the end of the internship highlighting key contributions and learning outcomes.





Key Qualifications and Skills:





• Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical & Instrumentation Technology, Mechanical or Pre-Engineering, or Welding Technology – Industrial Plant Option from Western Wyoming Community College or a similar institution.
• Basic understanding of maintenance principles, industrial systems, or engineering fundamentals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Articulate 360 or other eLearning tools is a plus.
• Demonstrates initiative, curiosity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
