Job Description
Evotec is seeking a summer intern for Environmental Sustainability in Seattle, WA. The role involves supporting the Environmental Health & Safety team to enhance sustainability initiatives, particularly improving My Green Lab certification. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in relevant sciences and possess a passion for environmental sustainability. This is a paid, onsite internship lasting 12 weeks at either the Seattle or Redmond facility.
Job Description
Just-Evotec Biologics (JEB) is looking for a creative and motivated intern to join our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) team for the summer of 2025. Our goal is to enhance JEB's sustainability by reducing our environmental footprint, tackling climate change, and eliminating waste. This internship will support both the EH&S functional team and the Environmental Sustainability employee resource team in our environmental sustainability initiatives, focusing on improving the My Green Lab (MGL) certification for the Seattle Co-Lab and starting the process for J.POD Redmond Labs. If you are passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to learn about biotherapeutics, we encourage you to apply, regardless of your year or experience level.
Responsibilities:
• Work with EH&S functional team and the Environmental Sustainability employee resource team to implement plans for:
• Addressing MGL recommendations for Seattle Co-Lab to allow for improving certification level.
• Utilizing Seattle Co-Lab recommendation to prepare Redmond labs for MGL certification.
• Meet with EH&S Director and/or Sustainability Champions weekly to ensure project success.
• End of internship presentation to the JEB staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working towards a Bachelor’s in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other Sciences.
• Passion and interest in environmental sustainability.
Pluses:
• Experience with and understanding of laboratory practices.
• Understanding of environmental sustainability.
• Experience with MS software, Smartsheet.
• Working knowledge of project management.
Note: This is a paid 12 week fixed-term internship located onsite at either our Seattle or Redmond facility. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship, benefits or relocation for internships. The pay for this position is $25.00 per hour.
