About the position

The Intern - Corporate Environmental and Sustainability at Howmet Aerospace will engage in a 12-week internship program, contributing to the Corporate EHS&S team. The role focuses on assisting with corporate environmental compliance and sustainability strategies, aimed at improving waste, water, air toxics, and biodiversity performance. Interns will work on real-world challenges, analyze data, develop policies, and prepare for formal planning and disclosure of Environmental Policies under the CSRD framework.

Responsibilities
• Assist corporate environmental compliance and sustainability strategists in supporting manufacturing operations.

• Analyze trends across manufacturing operations to identify areas for improvement.

• Develop strategies and propose corporate targets related to sustainability.

• Benchmark with top-performing industrial peers and learn from their approaches.

• Share best practices from across Howmet or other industries.
,
• Find outlets for materials previously disposed of as waste.

• Organize data and define data management needs for corporate environmental tasks.

• Develop internal educational materials to increase global understanding of sustainability topics.

• Document and present policies, plans, and business cases to management at the end of the internship.

Requirements
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program with a major in Environmental Management, Sustainable Business, or Engineering with an expected graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent.

• Demonstrated internship, work, or research participation experience.

• Strong data analysis skills and internet research capabilities.

• Involvement in at least one extracurricular activity.
