Job Description

LeapFrog Investments is hiring an Intern - Associate for Climate Strategy in Greater London. The role involves supporting climate initiatives, implementing sustainability practices, conducting research on climate trends, and developing a climate action plan. The intern will collaborate with various teams to assess and report on climate-related data. Candidates should have 3-5 years of consulting experience in climate or sustainability fields, with expertise in GHG accounting and climate risk strategies.
About the Role

LeapFrog Investments is seeking an outstanding intern to support the execution of three key climate initiatives:

1. Implement LeapFrog's internal climate best practices to achieve sustainability targets and reduce the firm's carbon footprint.

2. Enhance and integrate global climate best practices within LeapFrog's private equity impact investment strategy.

3. Conduct research on emerging climate trends, decarbonisation strategies, risk assessment methodologies, and broader private equity sector developments.

To achieve these objectives, the selected candidate will:
• Develop a three-year climate action plan, aligned with industry best practices and peer assessments, to embed sustainable practices within LeapFrog.
• Gather and analyse data across the portfolio to assess climate-related initiatives and recommend high-impact opportunities for LeapFrog's journey toward Paris Alignment.
• Oversee the collection and reporting of LeapFrog's financial and operational data to quantify its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and establish a pathway for setting science-based targets.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Director, Impact, Climate, the intern will play a key role in:
• Auditing and reviewing climate-related data and initiatives within select portfolio companies to benchmark performance and identify value-creation opportunities.
• Collaborating with LeapFrog's Finance and Impact teams, as well as external service providers, to quantify the firm's GHG footprint.
• Advancing LeapFrog's climate action plan to drive progress toward near-term and long-term climate objectives, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience
• 3-5 years of consulting experience in climate, resilience, or sustainability-related fields.
• Proven expertise in:

- Implementing sustainability initiatives in emerging markets and within private equity investments.

- GHG Protocol, carbon accounting frameworks, and decarbonisation strategies.

- Climate risk mitigation strategies tailored for private equity investors.

- Institutional investor expectations for climate management and reporting (e.g., ISSB/TCFD).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Master's degree preferred (e.g., MBA) but not required.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple workstreams across different time zones under tight deadlines.
• Proactive, adaptable, and results-driven, with the ability to reprioritise tasks as needed.
