Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Engineer or Planner with at least 2 years consulting experience to join our dynamic transportation operations team. The focus of our team is providing transportation consulting services in support of land development and redevelopment across Ontario. We help architects and urban planners to realize our clients’ vision toward a more sustainable transportation future. We help cities optimize operations on existing streets and recommend operational changes to support bike lanes and transit lanes. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, demonstrate excellent communication skills, be eager to mentor, and indicate an interest to work on a wide variety of private and public sector projects.

Role accountabilities:
As an Intermediate Transportation Engineer or Planner in our growing Mobility Advisory Ontario team, typical projects and tasks will include:
• Transportation impact studies and related analysis for residential, commercial, and employment developments across Ontario
• Traffic operations review / capacity analysis, parking demand reviews, travel demand management, and road user safety studies
• Supporting roadway planning and preliminary design studies by analysing existing transportation operations and comparing alternative configurations
• Project coordination with other technical disciplines with on-time and on-budget deliverables
• Preparation of technical reports and documentation of analysis
Qualifications & Experience:
• Education in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Engineering Technology or related fields
• Two or more years of experience preferably in a consulting setting
• Strong working knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manual and Highway Capacity Manual, and other recognized transportation standards and reference materials
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM
• Experience preparing material for and facilitating meetings with technical agencies and the public

The salary range for this position is $66,000 - $99,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
