Architectural Technologist - Intermediate or Senior

Founded 15 years ago TAWAW Architecture Collective is a Calgary based full-service design, planning, and architectural consulting practice committed to service excellence, innovation, design-research and human-centered design. We are a team of dedicated design professionals (Architects, Researchers and Technologists) working in a collaborative environment. We encourage team building and aim to provide a supportive and authentic environment for staff to grow and develop.

Responsibilities:

• Works with the project lead to provide support to the project team. Provides leadership as a job captain when required.

• Participates in establishment of project schedule and works with the project lead and project team to stay on track and within project budget.

• Participates in coordination of sub-consultants.

• Participates in and/or leads coordination of construction documents including Revit models, printed drawing packages and specifications.

• Works closely with the project team as a design develops to ensure constructability, material efficiency and realization of design intent.

• Works to integrate innovative building technology throughout the designing construction process.

Qualifications:

•A relevant post-secondary diploma or certificate.

• Minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant position.

• Minimum two years experience working on Alberta based projects.

• Intermediate to advanced command of Revit.

• Experience leading contract administration processes including site review.

• Experience interpreting the current NBC, local bylaws, site requirements and space requirements.

Skills Required:

•Has a strong understanding of building sciences and demonstrates competency in the development and improvement of construction details, as well as expertise in overall construction document preparation, coordination and review.

•Demonstrates ability and willingness to integrate Human-centered Design and Indigenous Design into project work.
