Job Description
• Req#: . Serves as the Wildlife and Fisheries Program Manager responsible for planning, coordinating, programming, and directing all activities related to the management of wildlife and fisheries resources on an Intermountain Region, Region 4 unit.

Duties
• Provide guidance for developing wildlife and fisheries management plans, habitat management plans, and protection of aquatic resources.
• Inspect habitat improvement projects for compliance and recommend protections or improvements.
• Lead habitat and population monitoring studies to gather data for habitat and species maintenance.
• Plan habitat management programs focusing on biodiversity conservation.
• Review habitat plans for technical soundness and alignment with management objectives.
• Translate national and regional policies into forest-level programs and guidance.
• Participate as a member of Interdisciplinary Planning Teams (IDT).
Requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service or be exempt.
• Satisfactory background investigation and fingerprint check required.
• Successful completion of a one-year probationary period unless previously served.
• Federal payments must be made via direct deposit.
• Must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the eligibility and qualification standards outlined by the Office of Personnel Management. This is an interdisciplinary role that may be filled within the Fish Biology Series GS-0482 or Wildlife Biology Series GS-0486.
Basic Requirements:
Fish Biology Series GS-0482: Degree in Biological Science with coursework in aquatic subjects and animal sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Wildlife Biology Series GS-0486: Degree in Biological Science with coursework in wildlife, zoology, and botany, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Experience (for GS-11 and GS-12):
• GS-11:
Experience in data analysis, program planning, or wildlife/fishery resource management.
• GS-12:
Experience in guiding programs, developing goals, overseeing projects, and monitoring accomplishments.
Volunteer and unpaid experience relevant to the role can be credited. Ensure your resume documents all work experience accurately, including dates, hours, titles, and duties.
