Job Description
• Req#: . Serves as the Wildlife and Fisheries Program Manager, responsible for planning, coordinating, programming, and directing all activities related to the management of wildlife and fisheries resources on an Intermountain Region, Region 4 unit.

Duties
• Provide guidance for developing wildlife and fisheries management plans, habitat management plans, and protection of aquatic resources.
• Inspect habitat improvement projects for compliance and recommend protections or improvements.
• Lead the design of habitat and population monitoring studies to ensure habitat and population maintenance.
• Plan habitat management programs focusing on biodiversity conservation.
• Review habitat management plans for technical soundness and alignment with management objectives.
• Translate policies into forest-level programs and guidance.
• Participate as a member of Interdisciplinary Planning Teams (IDT).
Requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service or be exempt.
• Subject to background investigation and fingerprint check.
• Successful completion of a one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
• Federal payments must be made via direct deposit.
• Must pass E-Verify employment verification.

This is an interdisciplinary position, and it may be filled in various series listed below.
Basic Requirements

Fish Biology Series GS-0482: Degree with major in Biological Science including at least 6 semester hours in aquatic subjects and 12 in animal sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Wildlife Biology Series GS-0486: Degree with major in Biological Science including at least 9 semester hours in wildlife subjects, 12 in zoology, and 9 in botany or related plant sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements

For GS-11:
One year of specialized experience at GS-09 level or higher, or equivalent graduate education leading to a Ph.D., or a combination thereof.

For GS-12:
One year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or higher, including providing guidance, developing program goals, and overseeing wildlife/fishery programs.
