Job Description



Prepare new generator interconnection applications, including conceptual single‑line diagrams, verification of reactive power compliance, and development of steady‑state, dynamic, and short‑circuit models to support application packages.Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies and provide guidance to clients who are active interconnection customers.Perform independent power system studies-thermal/voltage contingency, transient stability, and short‑circuit analyses-to support generator interconnection planning strategies.Conduct advanced grid system studies to evaluate scenarios and impacts for new conventional and renewable generation projects.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interconnection Grid Engineer should have:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with coursework focused on Power Systems Analysis.3+ years of power systems engineering experience, including one or more of the following: Knowledge of U.S. power regions and ISOs/RTOs (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, ISO‑NE).Experience modeling inverter‑based resources and renewable generation (WTG, PV, BESS, hybrid systems) using PSS/E, PSLF, and/or PSCAD.Experience using transmission planning tools (PSS/E, PSLF, TARA) for load flow modeling and contingency studies.Experience with dynamic transient and stability studies in TSAT, EMTP‑RV, or PSCAD (plus).

Also ImportantExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience writing technical reports and proposals.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and collaborate with others.Project planning, coordination, and leadership capabilities.
