Job Description

The Bosch Group is hiring an EHS & Sustainability Lead in Bengaluru, India. Key responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting audits, managing risk assessments, leading sustainability initiatives, developing training programs, and establishing EHS management systems. Job Description

Key Responsibilities
• Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure adherence to local, national EHS & ESG regulations (e.g., BRSR CSRD , EPA and Factories Act ) and CPCB’s EPR requirements .
• Monitor updates to environmental and safety laws and implement necessary changes in company policies.
• Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with EHS standards.
• Risk Assessment and Incident Management
• Identify potential environmental, health, and safety hazards through risk assessments.
• Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
• Sustainability Initiatives
• Lead sustainability projects focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and emissions control.
• Implement EPR strategies by designing eco-friendly products and packaging that align with recycling and disposal requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to innovate sustainable materials or processes.
• Training and Awareness
• Develop training programs for employees on EHS practices, sustainability goals, and compliance requirements.
• Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
• Program Development
• Establish EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 ) to ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance.
• Develop safety programs that include ergonomic assessments, machine guarding protocols, and chemical management.
• Monitoring and Reporting
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety incidents, energy usage, waste management, water management etc.
• Prepare detailed reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Use digital tools to monitor environmental impact metrics like emissions or waste.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, operations, procurement, and HR to integrate EHS into daily activities.
• Liaise with external consultants or regulatory bodies for guidance on compliance or project execution.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/ Chemical/Environmental preferred).
• Diploma in Safety & certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).
• Experience with ISO certifications like ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) or ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety).
• Familiarity with digital tools for EHS monitoring (e.g., emissions tracking software).
• 8+ years of EHS experience in Manufacturing Industries

• Proficiency in sustainability practices like life cycle assessment (LCA) or carbon footprint reduction.

• Strong communication skills for training delivery and stakeholder engagement.
