Role Details

Our award-winning Innovation team is responsible for designing and delivering the innovation and transformation strategies and portfolios for King & Wood Mallesons.

Reporting to the Melbourne-based Head of Innovation, with a focus on problem solving, generative AI, process improvement, experimentation, and consulting with the business and legal operations teams, key responsibilities include:
• Capturing legal requirements from internal and external clients using Jobs to be Done, User Stories, and business process mapping techniques.
• Analyzing requirements to identify opportunities for existing LegalTech or repeatable legal processes to bring added value.
• Configuring No Code and Low Code solutions to meet client requirements for rapid deployment, including Questionnaire/Form apps, calculations, document generation, and workflow automation.
• Owning various projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Leading complex strategic projects involving significant uncertainty and ambiguity.
• Developing project plans and ensuring timely delivery.

This role offers flexibility to be based in Melbourne or Sydney CBD, working with the broader Innovation team to analyze client and legal team requirements, implement LegalTech, and deliver bespoke client tools.

About You

As legalTech, AI (including Gen AI), and client/project demands grow, this role requires a professional with a unique blend of innovation expertise and business acumen. You will be proactive, entrepreneurial, action-oriented, and curious, with a client-centric approach. To succeed in Innovation 2.0, you should also have:
• Experience implementing legal technology solutions, including automation and AI tools.
• Strong change management skills and a passion for driving cultural transformation.
• Previous experience in innovation or digital transformation.
• A desire to work with new technologies, build knowledge, and share with stakeholders.
• Project and time management skills.
• Experience with engineering disciplines in tech, leading solution design, change, and engagement outcomes.
• Certification or training in innovation methodologies like lean, business model canvas, design thinking, agile, ADKAR, and experimentation.
