Job Description
Ceezer is seeking an Impact Carbon Removal Analyst focused on nature-based projects in Berlin, Germany. The role involves sourcing high-quality carbon projects, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with project developers. Candidates should have expertise in the carbon market, strong analytical skills, and fluency in English (Spanish preferred). The position offers an opportunity to contribute to climate action within a rapidly growing international team.
Businesses must decarbonize their operations to achieve real climate progress. Some emissions are unavoidable, and that’s where CEEZER comes in.
CEEZER is a platform for CO2 compensation and high-tech removal credits with access to >8,000 climate projects worldwide, verified by globally recognized registries. Transactions take place between corporations and project developers at the source, without any middlemen or hidden fees. CEEZER achieves this by providing scientific quality and pricing insights that help buyers and sellers interact, while allowing them to monitor credits in a balanced, high-quality portfolio.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Impact Analyst (f/d/m) with a focus on nature-based projects, who will be instrumental in shaping our supply-side strategy, focusing on sourcing and onboarding high-quality carbon projects for our platform. Additionally, you will be supporting our science-backed risk screening with first-hand project insights to ensure our supply quality.
• Identify high-quality nature-based removal and CDR projects by thoroughly analyzing the carbon market
• Proactively outreach to, engage, and onboard relevant nature-based supply partners to enhance our project portfolio
• Evaluate the quality of carbon projects and communicate any gaps or areas for improvement to project developers
• Identify risk drivers in nature-based removal and CDR projects and formulate recommendations to mitigate risk
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, such as assessing project documentation, scientific literature, news reports, reviewing and modelling formulas, time series data, and geospatial data
• Establish, nurture, and expand relationships with project developers to ensure continuous collaboration and mutual growth
• Collaborate with our product team to identify and resolve project developer pain points, ensuring our product meets their needs
• Work towards achieving key performance indicators and analyze supply-side data to inform our strategy
• Prepare carbon project insights for buyer discussions and support the creation of high-quality carbon portfolios
• Forecast and monitor carbon market trends for nature-based solutions and CDR that influence risk perception and evaluation of carbon projects
• Fluency in English (and additional fluency in Spanish is preferred)
• Carbon market expertise, including experience in carbon market data, relevant quality concepts (e.g. additionality), and carbon project documentation
• Established supplier network in the voluntary carbon market
• Technical experience in risk management and/or data analytics is a plus
• Established knowledge of quantitative analysis techniques and familiarity with common quantitative tools (Sheets, GIS software, SQL, Python) preferred
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
• Good research and writing skills
• The ability to explain complex issues and present technical information clearly
• Eligible to work in Germany/the EU
• Make a positive impact on the world and work on a mission that matters
• A rapidly growing international team of talented and highly committed people who are significantly contributing to the net zero transition
• Strong learning and development culture in a VC-backed, early-stage startup
• Free Urban Sports Club membership
• Offsites, team dinners and other after-work team activities
• CEEZER is a carbon positive company that will neutralize your footprint from day 1
• A truly inclusive environment - diversity is in our DNA and we flourish as a team of different races, genders, sexual orientations, and identities
