Job Description
The State of Missouri is hiring an Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst to support the management of surface water resources. Responsibilities include solving hydrologic problems, analyzing data, collaborating with stakeholders, and communicating scientific information. Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources seeks a skilled Environmental Program Assistant/Analyst to provide technical and analytical support for the management of Missouri's surface water resources.
About the Role
• Solve hydrologic and environmental problems at various watershed sizes and scales
• Contribute to watershed science, fluvial geomorphology, ecosystem restoration, and statewide knowledge of Missouri's water resources
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development and implementation of strategies to improve the health and sustainability of Missouri's surface waters
• Analyze data and research findings to inform policy decisions and recommendations
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including state agencies, local governments, and community groups
• Communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences through reports, presentations, and other materials
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as hydrology, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with complex data sets
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills
