About the position
The Bureau of Reclamation is seeking a dedicated Hydrologist to join our team in the Lower Colorado Basin Region, specifically at the Boulder Canyon Operations Office. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Boulder City, NV, with occasional travel required. While full-time telework is not available, some telework may be permitted based on agency policy. The salary range for this position is between $74,050 and $115,379 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is classified under the GS-11 to GS-12 pay scale, with promotion potential to GS-12. Candidates must meet specific educational and experience requirements, including a degree in physical or natural science or engineering with coursework in hydrology and related fields. Responsibilities
• Serve as a project member for hydrologic investigations by planning, conducting, and reporting on studies.

• Work on complex water issues requiring an understanding of hydrology and related disciplines.

• Plan and perform a wide range of data collection assignments.

• Analyze hydrologic data and prepare forecasts for water hazards such as floods.

• Develop hydrologic modeling and analysis procedures.
Requirements
• U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National required.

• Must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.

• Basic education requirement: Degree in physical or natural science, or engineering with at least 30 semester hours in hydrology and related courses.

• At least 6 semester hours in calculus and 6 semester hours in physics are required.

• For GS-11 level: One year of full-time work experience equivalent to GS-09 level in hydrology or related fields, or a Ph.D. in hydrology or a closely related field.

• For GS-12 level: One year of full-time work experience equivalent to GS-11 level in hydrology or related fields.
