MajorDuties
• As a Hydrologist, you will perform the following duties: Provide hydrologic services involved in forecasting, data collection and analysis, and development and adaptation of water resource programs performing daily hydrologic forecast functions such as during high water and flood events, stage forecasts, daily forecasts, river velocity forecasts, and short and long-range forecasting including spring snowmelt, flood outlooks, and river volume. Collect, analyze, and disseminate water resource data such as information on reservoir and lake storage, ground water levels, and surface and ground water quality. Develop and modify hydrologic procedures, techniques, and ensures optimal use of technologies and data producing reports and service awareness products for internal and external use. Manage networks of basic water resource data developing, modifying, and utilizing applicable state-of-the-art computer hardware and software components. Support National Weather Service (NWS) Social Scientists on operational research projects leading briefings and promoting consistency across the agency through collaborative efforts with Regional and National Centers, NWS Offices, Senior Duty Meteorologists, and other subject matter experts as needed. The duties described are at the full performance level of the GS-12 grade; the duties at the GS-07, GS-09, and GS-11 are developmental leading to the GS-12 level.

Education
Education completed in colleges or universities outside the United States may be used to meet the above requirements. You must provide acceptable documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Requirements
This position is an Open Continuous Announcement (OCA) that allows acceptance of applications throughout the year.
