Clean Energy Leadership Role

As a Hydro Generation Licensing and Implementation Senior Advisor at Edison International, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of clean energy. This role is centered around supporting the Generation Department with FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) Hydroelectric Project relicensing and implementation of the requirements of FERC project licenses for our hydroelectric projects.

You will be responsible for supporting relicensing proceedings and implementing the relicensing process in accordance with FERC's regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will interpret and implement FERC license order requirements, manage license order implementation and relicensing activities, secure and coordinate internal and external resources, and represent the company during consultation with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders in the FERC relicensing and license implementation activities.

A Day in the Life
• Lead implementation of FERC license conditions, including completing required regulatory filings, conducting agency consultations/meetings, implementing technical resource studies, and resource management plans.
• Plan and coordinate the resources needed to implement the FERC license conditions.
• Prepare implementation schedules and timelines, estimate staffing needs and workload predictions, and estimate implementation costs.
• SUPPORT AND COORDINATE THE RELICENSEING PROCESS PLANNING EFFORT AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO IMPLEMENT AND MANAGE THE MULTI YEAR RELICENSEING PROCESS.
• Negotiate the terms and conditions of the future FERC licenses that will be issued for the continued operations of our hydroelectric projects.
• Consult with regulatory agency personnel and other stakeholders to address resource interests in the relicensing proceedings and during license implementation activities.
• Prepare and review letters, technical reports, license applications, and other regulatory filings to FERC and other resource agencies to document compliance with FERC and other regulatory requirements.

The Essentials
• Ten or more years of experience in regulatory processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting environmental studies to evaluate project operations on environmental and cultural resources.
• Experience working with hydroelectric generation projects.

The Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Resource Management, Biological or Ecological Science, Environmental Law, or equivalent work-related experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or other related technical license, or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience leading/managing multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams to implement regulatory processes and environmental compliance regulations.
• Familiarity and understanding of hydropower operations, the environmental issues associated with hydropower operations, and the regulatory framework for the hydropower industry.
• Experience with FERC regulatory processes and other resource agency regulatory processes that pertain to hydroelectric projects operations.
• Ability to lead a complex regulatory compliance program in close coordination with the Hydro operations and relicensing functions.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Project.

You Should Know
• This position's work mode is hybrid, requiring the employee to report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
• Employees are required to reside in the state of California, unless otherwise noted.
• Up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory is required.
• Current location designated in Rosemead, CA, but also open to candidates working in Big Creek, CA location.
• Relocation does not apply to this position.
