Job Description

Ameresco is hiring a commercial HVAC Field Service Technician in Springfield, MA, focusing on installations and maintenance of HVAC units at Renewable Energy Sites across the U.S. Candidates should have at least two years of HVAC experience, be willing to travel extensively, and be able to perform physical tasks. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and responding to service calls, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and compliance with safety standards.
Ameresco is seeking experienced a commercial HVAC Field Technician to join our team with a focus on installations and maintenance of commercial HVAC units on Renewable Energy Sites located across the United States, primarily throughout the New England region. This is a fast-paced and rewarding job that is best suited for individuals who are responsible, self-directed, highly motivated, willing to travel, and looking to learn and grow in the Renewable industry. We are targeting candidates living in Massachusetts, Northern CT, and Eastern NY.

Responsibilities:
• Maintaining commercial cooling systems on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) focusing on installations including pipefitting of entire systems and diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components.
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance.
• Performing additional maintenance or upgrades to out-of-season equipment.
• Responding to service calls in a timely manner, including emergency call out services.
• Timely and accurate completion of daily work reports.
• Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
• Be available for after-hours and weekend callouts/shifts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or an equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with HVAC maintenance in a commercial setting.
• Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems.
• Level 2 or Universal EPA Certificate is required at time of hire.

Additional Qualifications:
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by email.
• Must be willing and able to comply with OSHA Standards.
• Available to travel up to 100%, especially during busy summer months.
• Driving to remote work sites as needed.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather and ambient temperatures.
• Physically able to lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
• Able to comply with FCC/EPA/OSHA Regulations.
• Must have a valid driver's license in good standing issued by state of residence.
