Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing Inc is seeking a HSE Technician in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves providing operational HSE support, managing hazardous waste, ensuring safety compliance, and participating in safety initiatives. Candidates need a relevant degree and experience in safety or environmental fields. The position is onsite in Chatsworth, CA, with a pay range of $31-$36/hour and offers benefits including medical insurance and a 401K plan.

Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world's aviation leaders. Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace.

Our team is looking for a HSE Technician to join us. You will report to the HSE Manager and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, CA.

To be considered for the HSE Technician opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
• BS degree in Environmental and Occupational Health OR AS degree in Environmental Studies, Occupational Safety, or related field plus 2 years' experience in hazardous waste handling and management, industrial safety, or environmental sampling.
• Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with employees and managers at all levels while maintaining confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Proficient in data entry and recordkeeping
• Ability to learn and apply environmental/safety regulations.
• Must obtain/maintain HAZWOPER and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.

As a HSE Technician, you will:
• Provide daily operational HSE support and assist in implementing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure a safe and incident-free workplace.
• Collect, sort, pack, and label hazardous and non-hazardous waste across the site, ensuring proper storage and compliance with regulations.
• Inspect and restock first aid cabinets, AEDs, emergency eye wash stations, and safety showers.
• Participate as a hazardous materials response team member, responding to spills and cleanup efforts.
• Assist with safety committee meetings and incident response efforts.
• Maintain chemical inventory and update Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) in MSDS Online.
• Ensure compliance with all company HSE policies and procedures, including HSE Management System provisions.
• Support administrative duties, including data entry, purchase requisitions for supplies, and PPE voucher management.

Compensation: $31-$36/hour, based on experience
