Job Summary

This advisory level position develops, maintains, and communicates effective health, safety and environmental programs to safeguard employees, contractors, facilities and surrounding communities. Provides general process and system administrative support for multiple HSER programs and will help coordinate HSER initiatives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's health, safety and environmental programs
• Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and government regulations
• Manages HSER communications and works with stakeholders to maintain HSER website
• Assist in evaluation, onboarding, and maintenance of the Contractor Management program
• Help develop, assign, and maintain the HSER training modules
• Investigates routine and unconventional accidents and complaints to determine the root cause, circumstances, contributing factors and corrective actions
• Develops recommendations and follow-up procedures to prevent accident recurrence
• Conducts health, safety and environmental audits to assess field operations, buildings, facilities, tools and equipment
• Collaborates with engineers, recommending measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, materials, or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment
• Analyzes and develops statistical data as requested by field operations
• Works directly with government agencies and trade organization to provide technical expertise in matters of health, safety and environmental policy, regulations and practices
• Mentors and trains less experiences HSE Representatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Job Specific Skills
• Advanced knowledge of applicable health and safety theories and concepts and a working understanding of the operating procedures and practices, as well as, regulations of federal and state requirements
• Advanced knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
• Advanced knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards (OSHA, ESA, API standards, et.)
• Advanced knowledge of environmental discipline and thorough understanding of the operation and structures of other disciplines, particularly oil and gas industry operations
• Advanced knowledge of safety and environmental codes and regulations
• Advanced knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and educational design, teaching and instructions for individuals and groups, and the measurement of education effectiveness
• Ability to provide technical guidance on environmental programs to all levels of management

Education

Minimum: High school diploma or GED

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Environmental Science, Health, Safety, Engineering, Law or related field

Experience

Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience

Additional Qualifications

Ability to possess a valid driver's license
