CitiPower and Powercor are seeking two HR Business Partners for max term roles (7-12 months) in Melbourne, VIC. The positions offer a hybrid work environment, focusing on employee relations, coaching, and supporting HR programs across the employment lifecycle. Successful candidates will build relationships with leadership, influence change, and promote an inclusive workplace culture. A tertiary qualification in HR and experience in a senior HR role are required.

About the role:

We have an opportunity for two experienced HR Business Partners to join our team for either a 7 or 12-month max term position, based out of our Market Street head office (with hybrid working available).

As a HR Business Partner, you’ll build trusting relationships and collaborate across your designated business units to provide employee relations counsel and coaching, along with supporting with all cyclical programs of work across the employment lifecycle and partnering with leadership teams on their people strategies across talent and performance.

The role requires someone who is able to provide high quality and measured advice, who is savvy and commercial, and who cares about fostering a workplace culture of equity and inclusion.

What you’ll deliver:
• Demonstrate consistent HR partnership, thought leadership and ensure the timely delivery of the full range of HR support.
• Build effective stakeholder relationships across the organisation, including senior leadership, with the ability to influence at all levels, and to introduce positive change based on your technical skills and credibility.
• Lead employee relations cases through to their resolution.
• Take active steps to uplift management capability in their leadership of teams, including challenging conversations and coaching
• Work with leadership teams to succession plan, whilst also ensuring that plans are in place to facilitate the retention of key talent.
• Optimise organisational design, so the business can realise its strategic objectives, including its inclusion and diversity goals.
• Support cyclical people related programs of work, such as key talent and development planning, annual performance reviews, the remuneration review process, and our employee opinion survey and action planning.
• Lead and/or contribute to programs of work as assigned, which may cover a wide variety of HR topics such as policy development, or procedure writing, and drive productivity improvements that enable the HRBP team to delight business stakeholders.

To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a senior HR role, influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Detailed working knowledge of the Fair Work Act.
• Sound leadership skills ideally gained within a partnering role.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels, to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, and exercise sound judgement and problem solving capabilities.
• The ability to make informed decisions to improve service delivery, processes and capability.
• Commercially astute; able to prepare business cases for executive review.
• Knowledge of industry leading HR practice, models and solutions.
