Job Description

Wellington Shire Council is seeking a full-time Horticulturalist to join their Natural Environment & Parks team in Kenya. The role involves maintaining parks and gardens, directing maintenance works, and requires a tertiary qualification in horticulture or significant experience. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of public landscape management and safety procedures. The position offers a salary between $68,797 and $72,444 annually, along with opportunities for growth in a supportive work environment.
Position No. 697 – Permanent Full-time

Band 3 $68,797– $72,444 yearly, (Includes Industry and Maintenance Allowances) plus 11.5% statutory superannuation

An exciting opportunity currently exists within Natural Environment & Parks to join a team of horticultural professionals in a permanent full-time capacity.

In this role you will help with providing a variety of horticultural works programs as part of a team. Working together you will maintain numerous parks and gardens across Wellington Shire Council. You will also direct and assist others in maintenance works.

If you have sound knowledge of horticulture as well as an eye for detail, good communication skills, a positive and flexible approach to work and a genuine commitment to getting the best results, this will be a perfect position for you.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate how they meet the criteria below:
• What Tertiary qualification in Horticulture (Certificate III or above) and/or significant relevant experience do you have?
• How have you gained experience and an understanding of public landscape management?
• Show us how you have demonstrated your knowledge of horticulture methods, plant species and herbicide applications.
• What do you do to demonstrate you understand OH&S policy and procedures and how do you create a safe working environment?

What Licences Do You Hold
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence
• Medium rigid truck licence
