About the position

The Energy Auditor I position at Franklin Energy / AM Conservation involves providing energy efficiency services to small business tenants, building owners, and utility customers. The role focuses on conducting energy assessments, recommending modifications to energy systems, and promoting participation in energy efficiency programs. The auditor will work directly with clients to enhance their energy efficiency and reduce costs while contributing to the organization's mission of driving the transition to net-zero carbon economies.

Responsibilities
• Promote the energy efficiency program to customers through scheduled energy assessments.

• Work with building owners and property managers to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance.

• Deliver professional, high-quality services to utility customers.

• Complete walk-through energy assessments identifying key energy-saving opportunities.

• Install energy-saving devices including lighting and thermostats.

• Explain energy assessment findings and rebates to building owners.
,
• Develop an understanding of the program's strategic direction and customer business activities.
,
• Document on-site energy efficiency opportunities and provide follow-up to customers.

• Discuss technical elements of energy-consuming equipment with clients.

• Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to manage projects and determine energy savings.

• Maintain a professional appearance and build rapport with customers.

• Provide written summary reports to customers and Program Managers as required.

• Collaborate in a team atmosphere for continuous improvement.

• Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs.
,
• Perform direct installations of energy-saving measures in customer facilities.
,
• Conduct inventory counts and submit reports as requested.
,
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of warehouse and vehicle areas.

• Perform routine vehicle safety inspections and submit reports.

Requirements
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.

• 1-2 years of experience in marketing, community organizing, or a related field (preferred).

• Knowledge of residential building construction, HVAC systems, or energy efficiency designations.

Nice-to-haves
• BPI Fundamentals or above certification.

• Experience in energy efficiency designations or certificates.
