Atlas Home Energy Solutions is hiring Home Energy Auditors in Washington, DC. This entry-level role involves helping homeowners upgrade to energy-efficient solutions. Candidates will meet customers daily, analyze homes for improvements, and generate scopes of work. We are currently seeking charismatic in home sales professionals to join our team as a Home Energy Auditor . Experienced candidates interested in finding consistent and reliable work with a company that provides long term career growth opportunities should apply. Work is consistent throughout all four seasons of the year with no annual layoffs or partial work weeks.

The Opportunity

An Atlas Home Energy Auditor owns their scopes of work and makes sure that every recommendation they make can be executed by our team and will benefit the customer. Only confident and proactive candidates will meet our teams needs.You'll be meeting 2 to 4 new customers a day and helping them to upgrade their homes to high efficiency, comfortable spaces. You'll need to be a people person to succeed in this position.Auditors have a company vehicle and run routes by themselves everyday. You'll start and end each day from your house and will communicate with the office and customers via web applications and phones. If this independent style work environment appeals to you, then you're probably a good fit.At each visit, you'll be analyzing and diagnosing homes for possible energy improvements; communicating to customers about possible improvements and government incentives.Scopes of work that you will generate will touch upon HVAC, Insulation, Ventilation, Plumbing, Electrical, Drywall, and Building Science fundamentals. You'll need to be a detail oriented person to handle the complexity of our solutions.Home Energy Upgrades is a fast growing field with significant government funding through state and utility programs Homes are transforming to high efficiency HVACs, air tight construction, solar power, and all electric appliances. With less than 0.5% of homes upgraded to date, the industry needs new professionals to meet the demand.Pay for this position is nearly 50% via commissions for services sold. As a Home Energy Auditor, successful candidates will be responsible for designing and selling solutions for home energy and comfort problems to Maryland Homeowners. In addition, auditors are responsible for educating homeowners on utility sponsored home energy improvement rebate programs and whole home energy improvement services, and installing simple “direct install” energy saving products like LED light bulbs and high efficiency water saving devices. Specifically, daily responsibilities include:

Complete Home Energy Audits and Estimates.Operate a company vehicle daily to reach appointments within 1 hour radius of their Home.Establish a rapport with customers through in-person interaction.Identify customer’s home energy needs and priorities.Complete Diagnostic testing including: Blower Door Testing, Infrared Camera Inspection, Combustion Safety Testing, HVAC testing and assessments.Visually inspect all interior and exterior spaces in a home and Crawlspaces and Attics for energy deficiencies. Will not need to go onto roofs.Diagnosis causes and design solutions for home energy deficiencies and comfort problems.Provide education on Maryland Home Performance with ENERGY STAR home energy improvement rebate programs.Provide education on whole home energy improvement services.Update Home Energy Audit Reports and Home Improvement Proposals. Will not be responsible for creating these documents.Review Home Energy Audit Reports and Home Improvement Proposals with customers.Sell whole home energy improvement services to meet monthly sales goals.Update Customer Information on web based customer databaseProvide top quality customer service to all homeowners.Install LED Light Bulbs, High Efficiency Faucet Aerators/Shower Heads, and Hot Water Pipe Insulation.Job Qualifications

BPI Building Analyst Technician Certification is required for this position2 Years of In Home Sales Experience2 Years of Home Energy Diagnostic Testing ExperienceDriver’s License with a clean driving record for the past 3 yearsCandidates must pass a criminal background check – No felonies or violent misdemeanors allowedNon-Technical Skills/Traits Required

Charismatic individual who can develop a rapport with people from different backgrounds and culturesEffective Communication of Technical/Scientific ConceptsSelf motivated person who thrives in both small team and independent work environmentsPassionate about sales, energy efficiency, or helping customers improve their homes and lives
