Job Description

UGL is seeking a Health & Safety Lead for a substation and high voltage transmission line project in Perth, WA. This Monday to Friday role involves monitoring HSSE legislation, providing safety advice, and designing safety culture initiatives. Candidates should have a relevant tertiary qualification, at least 10 years in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, and strong communication skills. UGL Utilities team are currently looking for a HSE Manager for a substation and high voltage transmission line project in WA.

- - Monday to Friday position

- - New project, with a large ongoing pipeline of works

Some key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Monitor and interpret relevant HSSE legislation, policies and regulations in order to provide direction and advice to projects which meet statutory and corporate objectives and responsibilities.

• Provide advice and coaching to managers, specific HSSE reporting & analysis for client and management needs.

• Liaise with customers, external regulatory bodies’ state organisations responsible for work place safety and ensure compliance and compatibility with their systems and processes.

• Design and deploy safety culture change initiatives aimed at increasing the focus and attention to safety and environment in the business.

About you

• Tertiary Qualification (Diploma or greater) in a Workplace Safety and Health related discipline

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Safety, Health and Environmental Management in Construction/Infrastructure industry

• Excellent knowledge of the OH&S, Environment and Workers Compensation legislation

• Demonstrated capability to develop and implement safety management systems

• Thorough knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, ISO31000

• Cert IV Training and Assessment

• Strong communication skills
