Description:

International Paper is seeking a Health & Safety Environmental Manager to lead its safety, environmental, and compliance programs at a fully integrated pulp and paper mill. The role involves managing safety, environmental policies, and team development, as well as engaging with community and regulatory agencies. The manager will report directly to the Mill Manager and oversee a team of 3-8 hourly and 6 salaried members.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead safety initiatives and foster a safety-first culture.
• Ensure environmental compliance and system reliability.
• Manage budgets and cost reduction initiatives.
• Recruit, train, and develop team members.
• Coordinate with community and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field; CSP and/or CIH preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies like Six Sigma.
