Compunnel Inc. is seeking a Health Safety Environment Coordinator in Bloomfield, CT, for a 6+ month contract role. The position focuses on environmental management, particularly air and water waste, requiring 3-5 years of relevant experience and knowledge of ISO 14001 standards. Responsibilities include implementing the Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting audits, and managing data analysis and reporting. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Analyst – Level II

06+ months Contract Possibility of Extension or Conversion

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HSE Analyst – Level II to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be environmental management, with specific emphasis on air and water waste. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental compliance, ISO 14001 certification, and an ability to apply safety and environmental procedures in a dynamic and impactful manner.

Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the site’s Environmental Management System (EMS), focusing on pollution prevention, waste management, air quality, and water quality.
• Assist in gathering emissions and discharge data, incidents, accidents, site inspections, wastewater sampling, and maintaining waste accumulation areas.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards by supporting regulatory efforts, stormwater management, training programs, and recordkeeping.
• Perform trend analysis for the Accelera HSE function, including generating reports on training progress, audits, corrective actions, metrics, and other related data.
• Extract and distribute data on health, safety, and environmental performance for leadership presentations.
• Manage and maintain the HSE SharePoint site and organize the HSE team calendar.
• Support the HSE team in the coordination and management of workshops, meetings, and presentations.
• Assist in internal and external Environmental Audits, resolving identified issues, and updating EMS documentation as needed.
• Help prepare and maintain Power BI reports related to HSE metrics and performance.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Experience:
• 3-5 years of work experience in environmental management or related fields, with specific experience in air and water waste management.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 certification standards and their practical application.
• Strong background in environmental regulations and compliance, including air quality, water quality, and waste management.
• Experience with trend analysis, data visualization, and performance reporting (e.g., Power BI, Excel).

Competencies:
• Risk Assessment: Able to evaluate hazards and prioritize risk by applying hazard identification and risk assessment techniques.
• Environmental Management Systems (EMS): Strong knowledge of international standards (ISO 14001) and practical application for achieving and maintaining certifications.
• Environmental Incident Investigation: Skilled in conducting root cause analyses of environmental incidents and implementing corrective actions.
• Data Analysis and Evaluation: Collect and analyze data using key performance indicators to evaluate trends and inform strategy.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ability to identify, interpret, and manage legal and regulatory requirements.
• Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively relay environmental data to varied audiences.
• Planning and Alignment: Ability to prioritize work and align goals with organizational objectives.
• Data Mining: Skilled in extracting insights from data and identifying patterns for decision-making and strategy development.

Education:
• A college degree in Engineering or a related technical/scientific field is required.
• Additional certifications, such as ISO 14001, are highly preferred.
