This role involves enhancing and overseeing health, safety, environment, sustainability, and risk management initiatives. Description

We are looking for a talented Health, Safety, and Environment Risk Director to join our team working in a fully remote capacity.

This Health, Safety, and Environment Risk Director role will be responsible for the enhancement and oversight of initiatives, policies, procedures, and resources aimed at comprehending, managing, and improving all facets of health, safety, environment, sustainability, and risk management. This role is pivotal in minimizing operational risks across the region, ensuring a robust framework for continuous improvement and effective management.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Implement health, safety, environmental, and sustainability programs to achieve regional objectives and targets.
• Represent the region in global teams to drive continuous improvement through program, policy, and procedure development.
• Guide sites in implementing hazard and risk controls through procedures, engineering controls, and training programs.
• Address non-routine and common health, safety, environment, and sustainability issues while promoting standardization and best practices.
• Ensure accurate documentation and communication of audit results; lead or participate in regional audits.
• Coach and mentor local site professionals, fostering growth and professional development.
• Support local incident investigations of severe incidents and coach site resources in reporting obligations.
• Lead the evaluation and management of regional health, safety, and environmental suppliers and consultants.
• The ability to effectively communicate with and influence leaders and employees within Operations on hazard elimination and mitigation utilizing formal risk assessment tools for Health, Safety, and Environment.

• Conduct Risk Assessments: Evaluate hazards and prioritize risks to implement effective control measures.
• Communicate effectively: The ability to communicate with and influence leaders and employees within Operations on hazard elimination and mitigation utilizing formal risk assessment tools for Health, Safety, and Environment.
• Ability to adapt : To emerging technology and translate to a large, complex organization to benefit HSE improvements.
• Managing Environmental media: Energy, Waste, and Water reductions.
• Ability to collaborate, create, and execute: Targeted priorities and initiatives for a large organization.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
• College, university, or equivalent Health & Safety, Engineering, or related technical or scientific degree is required.
• Master’s Degree or university equivalent preferred.
• Professional certification in HSE-related fields preferred ie; Certified Safety Professional
• Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, is required.
• Experience with health, safety, and environmental operations preferred.
• Environmental Compliance specific to North America.
• Preferred experience in Data Analytics and Power Apps but not required ie; Power BI, Enablon

Compensation

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
