H & Y Furniture Manufacturers is seeking a full-time Health, Safety and Environment Officer in Ikorodu, Nigeria. Job Title: Health, Safety and Environment Officer
Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary
• We are seeking a skilled HSE Officer who will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards within the factory.
• The role ensures that all production activities comply with applicable HSE policies and regulations to create a safe and hazard-free work environment for all operatives and factory personnel.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and enforce HSE policies in line with legal and company standards.
• Identify hazards through regular inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Report, investigate, and document workplace incidents and near misses.
• Conduct safety inductions and promote a culture of safety through regular trainings.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and supervise safe disposal of factory waste.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and submit periodic reports to management.
Key Requirements
• Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc. Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Service or any related field.
• Professional certification in HSE 1,2 &3
• 0-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably furniture
• Ability to train and influence staff at all levels
• Attention to detail and high level of accountability
• Effective communication skills
• Strong observation, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
