Job Description

Michael Page is seeking a Head of Sustainability for a leading Indian conglomerate. The role requires at least 15 years of experience in sustainability and regulatory compliance within MNCs. Responsibilities include tracking sustainability trends, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing global projects, and engaging with customers on sustainability strategies. Candidates should have strong communication skills and relevant educational qualifications. This is a full-time position based in India.

Our client is one of the leading India conglomerates. They are seeking to hire a Sustainability Head to lead its sustainability. This role is pivotal in turning sustainability into a profit center - enabling the business to build stronger customer loyalty, expand market share, and enhance our brand reputation as a sustainability-first solution provider in critical Western markets.

Job Description
• Track sustainability trends & practices inside as well as outside AM. Track Regulatory compliance for all regions.
• Partner with marketing teams to craft compelling messaging, case studies, and ROI-based business cases demonstrating how our solutions help customers meet their own ESG and Net Zero goals.
• Represent the company at sustainability forums, customer roundtables, and industry events to enhance brand credibility and influence sectoral conversations.
• Implement digital tools for regulatory compliance management.
• Responsible for managing design of global projects (sustainability, environment, water & wastewater) for implementation across multiple units.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (Registration, SDS creation, Coordination with ORs) for all sites
• Acts - Knowledge of various compliance acts - Environment Protection act 1986, Water (Prevention & Control Pollution), Air (Prevention & Control Pollution), Forests (Conservation).
• Updated knowledge on technical and environmental issues such as discharges & air emissions, water and energy consumptions and climate change.

The Successful Applicant
• Experience - Minimum 15 yrs of experience spanning sustainability, environmental management, regulatory compliance, and commercial roles such as sales, marketing, or business development-preferably within manufacturing, chemicals, or industrial sectors
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Candidate should be able to very strong in communication as she will be presenting the organization at various external industry forums and conventions.
• Experience in developing and implementing regulatory compliance strategies, including knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
• Proven success in engaging with European and North American customers on sustainability-led commercial strategies.
