Job Description
Flow Power is seeking a Head of Finance in Melbourne, VIC, Australia. This leadership role involves managing core finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. The Head of Finance will provide strategic financial advice, oversee financial reporting, and manage tax obligations. Candidates should have a CPA or CAANZ qualification and experience in senior financial management, preferably in the renewable energy sector. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Head of Finance to join our business to lead the Finance Team in successfully delivering our core finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, treasury, group tax and compliance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Head of Finance will be a strategic and experienced leader and will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and enhancing the company’s long-term financial strength. Key deliverables include:
• Leading the development and implementation of financial plans, budgeting, and forecasting strategies to support the company’s growth and operational needs
• Providing strategic financial advice to senior management, including analysis of capital projects, mergers, acquisitions, and other significant business opportunities
• Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive financial reports for the Group and Board, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks to ensure financial stability and compliance with relevant regulations
• Overseeing management of the company’s tax obligations, ensuring compliance with tax laws and respective tax optimisations, while providing tax implications to strategic decisions
• Utilising financial software and ERP systems to enhance data analysis, reporting, and forecasting
• Maintaining relationships with financial institutions, providing critical insights and advice to drive profitable outcomes and shareholder value
About You
To excel in this role, you will have demonstrated capability in building & leading high-performing teams, working in alignment with company values and the ability to build strong and professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
• CPA or CAANZ qualification, with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and develop teams to achieve high performance at individual and team level
• Experience in senior financial management, ideally in the renewable energy retail sector, the broader energy sector, or similar industry (tech, telco, banking, private equity)
• Strong experience in financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting for high-growth and investor-owned businesses
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to various stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ERP software
