Job Description

ACR World is seeking a Head of Energy Infrastructure for Ferrovial Energy in Sydney, Australia. The role involves leading the development of energy infrastructure projects within a global PPP framework, focusing on transmission and renewable energy. Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in infrastructure project development, strong knowledge of Australian markets, and experience managing government relationships. This is a full-time position based in Sydney.

Ferrovial is a global infrastructure leader, listed on Nasdaq (USA), Euronext Amsterdam, and IBEX 35 (Spain), with a strong track record delivering major PPP and long-term concession projects across transport, energy, and social infrastructure. With a growing focus on the Australian energy transition, Ferrovial Energy is targeting opportunities in transmission, storage, and renewable energy generation. This newly created leadership role will be critical in shaping and delivering the company’s long-term investment strategy in Australia. Key responsibilities include: Identify and assess opportunities initially across energy transmission, projects with the view to move into renewable generation Lead engagement with government departments, market bodies, and regulators Secure land access, permits, and approvals for early-stage projects Manage technical and commercial feasibility assessments Develop project structures aligned with PPP and concession frameworks Support financial modelling, investment cases, and funding strategies Build relationships with joint venture partners and service providers Work closely with internal construction and delivery teams to support project execution Candidate Profile We are seeking someone with a deep understanding of the commercial, regulatory, and delivery frameworks that underpin PPP and concession infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will likely bring: 8+ years’ experience in the origination and development of major infrastructure / renewable projects Background working with or for a concessionaire, investor, developer, or asset operator Project financing - Strong commercial and regulatory knowledge of Australian infrastructure markets Experience managing government relationships and tender processes Understanding of long-term contracts, risk allocation, and project finance principles Technical understanding of high-voltage transmission or renewable energy projects is required Engineering, legal, commercial, or finance qualifications are all relevant Head of Energy Infrastructure – Australia Location: North Sydney Sector: Energy Infrastructure (Transmission) Employer: Ferrovial Energy Retained Search Partner: ACRWORLD Contact: Chris Cooper | 0411 329 635Apply Now
