Job Description

Triple Oak Power is seeking a Head of Development for Renewable Energy in Portland, OR. The role involves leading renewable energy project development across the Western U.S., including site evaluation, lease negotiation, and community engagement. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in energy project development. The position requires frequent travel to project sites and the company's headquarters.
Triple Oak Power is hiring a Director, Development in the West Region, to lead and manage the development and evaluation of potential renewable energy business opportunities across the Western United States, including the identification of new project opportunities, project site evaluation, lease negotiation, community engagement, transmission interconnection, environmental studies, permitting, and resource assessment.
Triple Oak Power LLC (“TOP”) is a leader in developing sustainable energy plants. TOP’s core business is the development of onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects to deliver domestic clean power solutions to meet growing energy demand. Manage all aspects of wind, solar and storage project development and strategy across a portfolio of assets
Coordinate or direct project teams including internal and external Subject Matter Experts to ensure project needs and objectives are met
Identify market opportunities and evaluate development prospects for opportunities and/or fatal flaws
Create and manage project budgets to stay within limitations
Create and maintain project plans, including project scope, goals, tasks, resources, schedules, costs, contingencies, or other project information
Manage all aspects of real estate development including negotiating real estate agreements, managing land agents and working with internal and external legal and title resources
Lead or support negotiations involving tax agreements or abatements, power purchase agreements, land use, or interconnection agreements
Supervise the work of subcontractors or consultants to ensure quality and conformance to specifications or budgets
Develop or support scopes of work for project functions, such as design, site assessment, environmental studies, surveying, or field support services
Maintain project status reports and provide verbal or written reports to project teams, management, subcontractors, customers, or owners
Prepare or assist in the preparation of applications for environmental, building, or other required permits
Coordinate with EPC resources for review of civil design, engineering, or construction technical documentation to ensure compliance with development goals and applicable industry and regulatory standards
Support requests for proposals (RFPs) for project construction or equipment acquisition
Represent TOP with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders

Bachelors Degree or equivalent job-related experience
8+ years’ experience in energy project development, transmission, or power project engineering
Strong organizational, networking, leadership, time management, and accounting skills
~ Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
