Hazardous Waste Technician / Yard Support Specialist

Emerald Environmental is seeking a full-time Hazardous Waste Technician / Yard Support Specialist in Des Moines, IA. Responsibilities include safe waste handling, facility support, inventory management, and environmental field services. Emerald Environmental is looking for a full-time Hazardous Waste Technician / Yard Support Specialist in Des Moines, IA. In this position, you will play an important role in the company’s waste handling/transportation operation.

Yard/Waste Management Responsibilities:
• Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and Company policy
• Support facility operation for waste management
• Load and unload waste materials including drums, tankers, and roll-off boxes
• Stock supply inventory/order materials as needed
• Maintain facility and yard in a safe and organized manner
• Perform a variety of environmental field support services

What is required?
• High School education
• Experience working with industrial waste (haz/non-haz)
• Experience working in the industrial/environmental services industry is preferred
• Valid CDL is ideal but not required
• The ability to perform basic physical tasks including lifting moderate loads and using equipment such as dollies to move heavier equipment
• The ability to use basic applications on smartphones and tablets
• Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Email
