Hawai'i Energy is seeking a qualified Energy Engineer to join our team. As an Energy Engineer, you will play a key role in helping us achieve our goal of 100% clean energy by 2045.
">

Our team works closely with commercial customers to identify energy-saving opportunities and develop solutions to reduce their energy consumption. We use a variety of tools and techniques, including energy modeling, data analysis, and field measurements.
">

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
">

The Energy Engineer will be responsible for:
">

• Reviewing energy efficiency calculations and energy models for commercial projects">
• Performing data acquisition and analysis for internal and external stakeholders">
• Analyzing billing and utility data using linear and multivariable regression models">
• Providing energy advising customized for commercial customers">
• Conducting building energy audits to identify major energy consumption areas and optimize building operation, lighting, controls, and HVAC equipment operation">
• Writing technical summaries and briefs for both technical and non-technical audiences">
• Developing educational material for building owners and the design and construction communities">
• Developing and reviewing measurement and verification (M&V) plans, performing M&V activities and analyzing data to determine savings and costs of energy projects">
• Researching and developing prescriptive savings measures for emerging energy efficiency technologies">
• Developing interactive visualizations using R, Python, JavaScript, or other languages for internal and external stakeholders">

Requirements
">

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in engineering and two plus (2+) years of professional experience in engineering, technical project management or related areas. May consider more years of experience in lieu of degree.
">

The ideal candidate should have proficiency in analytical programming language (R, Python) as well as SQL. Strong technical, quantitative, and analytic capabilities including technical report writing and advanced spreadsheet development/analysis.
">

The candidate should also be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams.
